How many countries are still under England rule?

As of 2021, the British Empire no longer exists as it did in its peak during the 19th and early 20th centuries. However, there are still 14 territories around the world that remain under English rule. These territories are officially known as British Overseas Territories.

There are currently 14 British Overseas Territories, each with its own unique political and legal status. These territories are spread out across the world, with some located in the Caribbean, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Indian Ocean.

Some of the most well-known British Overseas Territories include Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, and the Falkland Islands. These territories are self-governing but rely on the UK for defense and foreign affairs.

While these territories are under English rule, they are not considered part of the United Kingdom itself. Instead, they are separate entities with their own governments and legal systems.

In addition to the 14 British Overseas Territories, there are three Crown Dependencies that are under the sovereignty of the British Crown but are not part of the UK. These Crown Dependencies include the Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey.

Overall, while the British Empire no longer exists in its former glory, there are still 17 territories around the world that remain under English rule in some capacity. These territories play a unique role in the modern world and continue to have strong ties to the United Kingdom.
