Are you curious about which countries are still under British rule? The British Empire once ruled over a vast number of territories, but today, it has significantly reduced its imperial power. However, there are still a few countries that maintain a constitutional monarchy with the British monarch as their head of state.

According to the Commonwealth realm Wikipedia page, as of 2024, there are currently 16 countries that are under British rule. These countries are members of the Commonwealth of Nations and share a common history with the United Kingdom.

The countries that are still under British rule include Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and the United Kingdom.

Each of these countries has its own government and constitution but recognizes the British monarch as their ceremonial head of state. The monarch's role in these countries is largely symbolic, with the real power lying with the local government.
